Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks an experienced Radiologic Technician with MRI expertise to perform advanced imaging procedures and mentor staff.

Requires RT(R) or MR certification and 2–5 years of radiology experience. This on-site role offers a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth within the Radiology Department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or trade school equivalency (or higher level of education).
• Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - RT(R) and/or MR.
• 2 years' experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
• Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other site as required by work area.
• Oversees shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs.
• EntrEs/escalates IT and equipment tickets. Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists.
• Maintains/orders necessary supplies for department needs.

Role Purpose

Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in at least one advanced imaging modality (defined as MRI,CT, IVR, Mammography, Bone Density, Cardiac Catherization) on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem solving patient care or imaging issues, and serves as a resource person. Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations. Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Provides continuing mentorship to adv. mod tech, adv. mod senior tech, and Adv. Mod CI.

Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately. Maintains/orders necessary supplies for department needs.

• Education: Associate or Trade School Equi
• Experience: 2-5 years
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience
• Licenses & Certifications: IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRIRTR,CT,MR,M,BD,CI,VI,RCIS,RCES

Preferred Requirements

• 5-10 years
• Licenses & Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
