Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a Charge Master Coding Analyst to join our team. You will use medical knowledge to compare documentation with billed items, analyze charging patterns, and update preference lists for accuracy.

This role works closely with medical records, nursing, finance and patient accounting to audit the chargemaster, report audit outcomes, and guide staff on coding and billing issues. Prior CPC or RHIT/RHIA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in HIM, Business Administration or any Medically related field and/or CPC.
• 5 years minimum hospital experience
• 3 years’ experience in coding, billing, and/or patient accounting
• CPC, RHIT or RHIA certification

Responsibilities

• Compare documentation to billed items and identify coding/billing issues.
• Audit charge master details and monitor coding compliance.
• Coordinate auditing and reporting of charge errors and system performance.
• Train and guide team on workflow management and coding/billing questions.
• Collaborate with clinical areas to address missing/misdirected charges.
• Lead special projects to improve revenue cycle outcomes.
