Qualifications

• Degree in nursing from an accredited Nursing program.
• LVN License, in good standing.
• 1 year of experience as a nurse; long-term care preferred.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and maintain confidentiality and react decisively in emergencies.
• Exceptional supervisory skills; proactive in supervising and developing nursing team.
• Excellent training skills; ability to provide hands-on training to nursing staff.
• Good problem solving and independent thinking skills.
• Case management skills; comfort with client relations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the nursing unit and coordinate personnel, supplies, equipment and facilities.
• Review staffing patterns and census; reassign staff to meet resident needs and budgetary controls.
• Manage and analyze patient care after admission/readmission; conduct initial assessments.
• Assist in creating and implementing care plans addressing resident needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, gastronomy tube management, and some wound care.
• Monitor residents and communicate changes to physicians.
• Ensure documentation of resident care and maintain medical records.
• Investigate complaints and take action to resolve issues.
