Job summary

The Cardiovascular Care Group is seeking a Charge Entry and Eligibility Specialist to ensure accurate entry of medical charges and verify patient insurance eligibility. This full-time clerical role based in Clifton, NJ supports revenue cycle operations and aims to minimize claim denials while ensuring timely billing.

Ideal candidates possess 2+ years in medical billing or revenue cycle operations, familiarity with APRIMA EMR, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in healthcare administration, medical billing, coding, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, charge entry, insurance verification, or revenue cycle operations preferred.
• Experience in a cardiovascular or multispecialty practice strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with APRIMA EMR and practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Enter professional and ancillary charges accurately into the PM system.
• Review charge tickets and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes per payer requirements.
• Identify and resolve charge discrepancies with providers and staff.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to services.
• Coordinate with scheduling to resolve insurance issues before appointments.
• Assist in reducing claim denials by accurate data capture and demographics.
