Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Three years hospital or business office experience in medical billing, registration, or coding.
• Knowledge of third party payors, managed care and explanation of benefits.
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
• Detail oriented with basic math and strong analytical skills.
• Positive demeanor with strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Research and monitor areas of compliance and workflow; suggest changes to improve consistency and effectiveness.
• Assist in reconciling patient accounts with charge discrepancies; coordinate with PFS for timely adjustments.
• Audit accounts to ensure policy adherence and support quality monitoring and process improvement.
• Serve as lead resource for scheduling within outpatient PM&R to improve operations.
• Coordinate workflow activities with PM&R management and identify improvements in customer satisfaction.
• Provide expertise of outpatient PM&R and act as liaison to administrative management staff.
• Offer daily staff support for all PM&R functional areas.
• Assist with selection, orientation, training, and evaluation of assigned staff.
• Help address patient scheduling complaints and escalate when needed.
