Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical or Systems Engineering Intern in Greensboro, NC. You will work on equipment optimization, maintenance planning, and lean manufacturing improvements while learning from industry experts.

You will develop KPI dashboards and support cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment. Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical or Systems Engineering, with exposure to JMP/Spotfire/Tableau and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with statistical/reporting tools such as JMP, Spotfire, or Tableau.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude related to manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail; good collaboration with team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring equipment optimization and robust preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Cross functional observation to drive continuous improvements in cycle time, constraints, safety, efficiency, cost.
  • Establishing SPC standards in key work areas.
  • KPI and Dashboard Development/Consolidation.
  • Applying LEAN tools such as A3, 8D and 8-step to manufacturing best-practices.
  • Assembly layout projects.
  • Provide weekly updates to supporting Manager on project status, schedule and risks.
  • Generate documentation/reports and present findings in team meetings.

Qorvo’s Mechanical or Systems Engineering Internships are offered in our Global Operations business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Ensuring equipment optimization and robust preventative maintenance schedule are in place.
  • Cross functional observation to identify and drive continuous improvements in cycle time, constraints, safety, efficiency, cost, etc.
  • Establishing SPC standards in key work areas
  • KPI and Dashboard Development/Consolidation
  • Use LEAN tools such as A3, 8D and 8-step to apply manufacturing best-practices / continual improvements
  • Assembly layout projects
  • Supply weekly updates to supporting Manager on Project(s) status – with emphasis on schedule, project health and any concerns impactful to project(s) timeline.
  • Generate documentation/reports and present findings in a team meeting
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS in Mechanical or Systems Engineering
  • Experience with statistical and/or reporting tools such as JMP, Spotfire, or Tableau
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (applies towards manufacturing equipment & tooling)
  • Self-Starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong people skills and ability to work well with all team members

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.

Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo. More information on the Total Rewards package can be shared upon request.
