Job summary

IQE plc in Taunton, MA, seeks a Characterization Engineer – P2 to join the team in a split role between the cleanroom and office. You will follow SOPs, support metrology and process characterization, and assist with calibration and maintenance activities.

You will work with cross-functional teams to drive device fabrication improvements, troubleshooting, and root-cause analyses, while adhering to EHS guidelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced experience in Characterization or equivalent manufacturing field.
• 7+ years experience in Characterization or equivalent.
• Experience of working in Characterization or Engineering functions.
• Experience of working effectively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Split work between the cleanroom environment and the office.
• Support a high level of cleanliness by completing scheduled housekeeping tasks.
• Comply with all company policies, SOPs, Work Instructions, and recordkeeping requirements.
• Comply with all EHS protocols and requirements.
• Follow health, safety, HR, environmental quality and cybersecurity guidelines and procedures.
• Have clear understanding of chemicals and substances in the workplace and follow PPE requirements.

Abouttherole

• Split work between the cleanroom environment, following all required protocols and procedures and the office.

• Fosteracollaborativeworkenvironmentandpromoteteamworkacrossdepartments.

• Electricalandopticaltestingproceduresoffabricateddevicesindependently,followingtraining.
• Havegoodcompetenceandexperienceofrelevantcomputersoftwaresystemstofollowandprocessroutinetasksaccurately,recordingallworkscarriedoutfortraceability.
• Haveagoodunderstandingofscheduledroutinecalibrationandmonitoringtasks.
• Support corrective/preventive actions, problem solving, failure analysis, process qualification, and root cause investigations for areas of responsibility.
• Assists in defining the scheduled routine calibration and monitoring, performing regular daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
• Performotherfunctionsanddutiesasrequired.
