Qualifications

  • Endorsed and in good standing with a denomination (certificate of ordination or certification).
  • Bachelor’s degree in theology from an accredited school preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience providing ecumenical pastoral care and client/family counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Travel weekly to Indiana communities to recruit and lead a volunteer Chaplain team and provide spiritual support to residents, families and staff.

Job Description:PURPOSEAs a Part Time Regional Chaplain Coordinator, you travel to various cities (listed below) to recruit and lead a volunteer Chaplain team while ensuring spiritual support to our clients, clients' family members, and staff from a variety of backgrounds via phone, home visits and referrals to the local clergy. This role works 20 hours a week.This role travels weekly to a variety of communities in Indiana that would at times include Indianapolis, Muncie, Anderson, Fort Wayne, Columbus, Greenfield, Union City, Rushville, Lawrenceburg, Richmond, Greensburg, Madison, New Castle, and Scottsburg You would be paid for travel time and reimbursed for mileage.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides oversight and support to volunteer Chaplains who offer spiritual care to residents and staff within an affordable house community.Builds relationships with local faith communities and leaders for collaboration and ministry partnership. Recruit and train new volunteers to serve as chaplains.Assists with bereavement, memorial services and activities related to the religious and spiritual issues of the client, families and interdisciplinary team.Submits accurate and timely documentation, updates and maintains client’s records and charts, provides reports as needed by management and regulations.Attends and participates in scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans, follow up on changes, problem solve, etc. to ensure client’s progression and treatment are properly communicated, documented and in conjunction with the physician’s orders.EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner.Manages time efficiently and effectively.Provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach.Collaborates and participates in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods.Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.Performs other duties as assigned.Education:Must be endorsed and in good standing with a denomination as evidenced by a certificate of ordination or certification.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of theology preferred.Experience: Minimum of 12 months experience providing ecumenical approach in pastoral care and client/family counseling.Travel:Frequent - this role visits a variety of communities on a weekly basisMust have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and qualified to driver under the organization’s motor vehicle check.Skills:Must have exceptional communication,Must have strong comprehension and interpersonal skills.Must have strong computer skills and some familiarity with MS Outlook, Teams, and Word.
