Job summary

Griffin Health in Derby is seeking a Per Diem Chaplain to join our Spiritual Care and Education Department. The role provides interfaith spiritual care to patients, families, and staff under the direction of the Director of Spiritual Care and Education.

The ideal candidate will bring compassion, engage in crisis ministry, facilitate groups, support community outreach, and maintain thorough documentation. On-call shifts, weekends and holidays, plus clerical duties and computer literacy are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
• Two units of CPE preferred; other relevant experience considered.
• Experience in Emergency Department chaplaincy and diversity & inclusion work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct spiritual support in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Lead and facilitate spirituality and support groups, and additional programming as assigned.
• Support community outreach, program development, and partnerships within and beyond Griffin Health.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided.
• Perform in-hospital and on-call chaplaincy shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Offer clerical support and demonstrate computer literacy for administrative responsibilities.

Job description

Griffin Health is currently seeking a Per Diem Chaplain to join our Spiritual Care and Education Department. The ideal candidate will bring a compassionate, interfaith approach to spiritual care for our diverse patient and staff community and contribute meaningfully to our mission of person-centered care.

Main Function:

The Chaplain will provide Interfaith spiritual care to patients, families, and staff across the hospital under the guidance of the Director of Spiritual Care and Education. Responsibilities include:

Delivering direct spiritual support in a professional and compassionate manner.

Leading and facilitating spirituality and support groups, as well as additional programming as assigned.

Supporting community outreach, program development, and building partnerships within and beyond Griffin Health.

Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all services provided.

Performing both in-hospital and on-call chaplaincy shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Offering clerical support and demonstrating computer literacy for administrative responsibilities.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.

Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred (other relevant experience will be considered).

Experience:

Experience in Emergency Department chaplaincy and in diversity & inclusion work is strongly preferred.
