Job summary

Providence is seeking a Chaplain to provide spiritual care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. This part-time role (28 hours/week, weekday day shift) supports our PACE sites in Cully and Milwaukie, contributing to the mission and values of Spiritual Health Services.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in theology or related field, complete clinical pastoral education units, and pursue National Chaplain Certification within three years.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations or equivalent education/experience.
  • Four clinical pastoral education units.
  • Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and competent spiritual care ministry to meet spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of others in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  • Work as part of the healthcare team to implement the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services.
  • Support Providence PACE sites in Cully and Milwaukie and contribute to delivering compassionate care.

The Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of others in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. As a member of the healthcare team, the chaplain is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, polices, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the facility in which they serve. This role will be supporting our PACE sites in Cully and Milwaukie.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations or equivalent education/experience.
  • Coursework/Training: Four clinical pastoral education units.
  • Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
