CHAPLAIN: Part-Time (Monday - Friday 8:00am - Noon)

Valley Hope of Atchison is searching for an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time Chaplain.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Ordination by, or licensure from, a recognized ecclesiastical body ensuring pastoral privilege.
• One (1) year of experience in pastoral ministry.
• CPR certification.

JOB SUMMARY

• Assess patients' spiritual needs, motivations, and backgrounds; prepare spiritual histories for patient summaries and treatment records.
• Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual care to patients supporting their substance abuse treatment plans; offer spiritual support to family and support members as needed.
• Accurately and promptly record treatment activities and patient observations; complete paperwork requirements efficiently.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Communicate with clinical and medical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
• Conduct daily chapel meditations, spiritually focused group counseling, and educational lectures.
• Serve as a spiritual care resource and advisor to facility management; provide spiritual mentoring and training to staff upon request.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Residential treatment facility setting; requires walking throughout the facility.
