Job summary

CoreCivic seeks a Chaplain to provide pastoral care in an institutional, secure setting and to coordinate all religious services, programs, and related activities at the facility. They will also provide pastoral counseling.

Responsibilities include rounds of housing units, crisis communication oversight, and volunteer coordination. Qualifications require a Bachelor's in Divinity/ Theology, three years pastoral experience, and denominational endorsement eligibility; a Master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Divinity, Theology or Religion required
• Master's degree from Seminary/School of Theology preferred
• Three years of full-time pastoral experience required
• Eligibility for denominational endorsement or equivalent certification required
• Clinical Pastoral Education preferred; must obtain one unit of CPE within 18 months of hire if not held
• Knowledge of conducting religious services, teaching religions studies, administering sacraments and pastoral counseling

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care to inmates/residents and staff; plan, facilitate, or conduct religious services and programs
• Oversee emergency/crisis communications; arrange emergency calls or visits for serious issues
• Make rounds of housing units and facility areas regularly
• Coordinate recruitment, oversight, training and scheduling of volunteers providing services
