Position Purpose and Summary: Provides patients, family members, and hospital staff with emotional, pastoral, spiritual, and sacramental support and guidance to help them through stress, crisis, or anxiety. Visits assigned patients, accepts referrals, documents care provided, and participates in educational programs. May offer prayer or reflection based on the patient's life experience. Assists patients in understanding their life's events in relation to their spiritual and emotional well-being.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of theological coursework demonstrating skills in pastoral care.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Theology, religious studies, education, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training preferred.
• In good standing with the Church via ecclesiastical endorsement.
• Sensitivity and stamina to minister to patients with diverse physical and mental health issues.
• Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services.
• Desire and sensitivity to work with patients, families, clergy, and volunteers of various faith backgrounds.
• Knowledge and support of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
• Experience working as part of a team with good communication skills.
