Job summary

Allay Hospice in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a Chaplain to provide spiritual support for patients and families in end-of-life care. Full-time, Monday–Friday 8AM–5PM, with a focus on compassionate, inclusive care within an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a theology/chaplaincy degree, hospice experience preferred, and comfort working in diverse faiths. Travel and community liaison duties are included to support care planning and memorial services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent)
• Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred
• Comfort in an interfaith setting
• Must be a licensed driver with insured vehicle
• Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy of care
• Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to network with community clergy and congregations

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely spiritual assessments for patients and families
• Develop individualized care plans addressing spiritual needs
• Provide direct spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers
• Serve as liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors
• Maintain documentation of spiritual services and communications
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to care planning
• Educate and guide the care team on spiritual care
• Recruit and support community chaplains and volunteers
• Coordinate and lead memorial or funeral services as requested
• Organize periodic memorials for staff and partners
• Assist in supervising spiritual care volunteers

As a Chaplain You will:
