Job summary

Allay Hospice is seeking a compassionate Chaplain in Sheboygan, WI. You will join an interdisciplinary team providing emotional and spiritual support to patients and families during end-of-life care.

Responsibilities include conducting spiritual assessments, developing care plans, and offering direct spiritual support while coordinating with community chaplains and volunteers. This role emphasizes humility, inclusivity, and a person-centered approach to care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program.
• Experience with death and dying; hospice experience preferred.
• Comfort in interfaith settings.
• Licensed driver with insured automobile in good standing.

• Conduct timely spiritual assessments for patients and families.
• Develop individualized care plans addressing spiritual needs.
• Provide direct spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Serve as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
• Maintain accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications.
• Attend interdisciplinary care planning meetings.
• Offer education and spiritual care guidance to the care team.
• Recruit and support community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers.
• Coordinate and lead memorial or funeral services as requested.
• Organize periodic memorials for staff and community partners.

As a Chaplain You will:

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree)
• Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred
• Comfort in an interfaith setting
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
• Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values
• Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care
• Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group
• Ability to network with community clergy and congregations
