Qualifications

  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires ACPE Certified Educator status.
  • Must meet qualifications for Board Certification (APC, NACC, or NAJC).
  • National Faculty Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Faculty educator for Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programming for interns, residents, and fellows.
  • Delivers expert spiritual care for patients, their supporting community, and team members, and educates interns, residents, and fellows.
  • Works collaboratively with CPE faculty in planning and administration of ACPE-accredited educational programs.
  • Provides spiritual care education for system-sponsored programming for community and internal publics as directed.
  • Conducts Level I and Level II CPE programs as well as programming for Certified Educator Candidates under the standards for the ACPE.

The Chaplain Educator plays a key role in advancing IU Health's Spiritual Care Education programs by providing clinical pastoral education and mentorship to students, interns, and residents across the health system. This individual will collaborate with a highly respected faculty team to support innovative learning experiences, contribute to evolving accreditation initiatives, and help shape the next generation of spiritual care professionals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about education, values learner development, and thrives in a forward-thinking environment committed to excellence in patient-centered spiritual care.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications
