Job summary

Trinity Health PACE is seeking a Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual care within LIFE Saint Joseph of the Pines. This full-time role supports patients, residents, families, and staff, focusing on spiritual distress, grief, crisis intervention, and life-changes guidance.

You will assess needs, document outcomes, and collaborate with the care team to integrate spiritual care into overall healing. A Master’s degree and CPE are required; board certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Theology, Religion, Spirituality, or related field—or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of Spiritual Care experience, including CPE training.
• Board Certification (APC, CASC, NACC, NAJC) strongly preferred.
• Ability to develop programs supporting spiritual needs across diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide transformative Spiritual Care experiences, honoring the diverse beliefs and values of those served.
• Assess spiritual and religious needs, offer appropriate interventions, and document assessments, care, and outcomes.
• Participate in ethics consultation processes when needed.
• Collaborate with the Spiritual Care Manager to evaluate and improve care practices.
• Educate and support colleagues in recognizing and responding to spiritual distress.
• Facilitate interfaith or faith‑specific prayer, meditation, worship, and sacraments, sometimes in partnership with community clergy.
• Promote programs that enhance workplace spirituality and maintain sacred spaces.
• Commit to ongoing self‑care, growth, and spiritual formation.

The Chaplain provides compassionate Spiritual Care within St Mary, supporting the spiritual and emotional well‑being of patients, residents, participants, families, and colleagues. This role focuses on spiritual distress, grief support, crisis intervention, and guidance during major life changes. As a key member of the inter‑professional care team, the Chaplain ensures the spiritual dimension of healing is integrated into the overall care experience.
