We have created a new leadership role, Channel Marketing Director, to drive our Go-To-Market strategy across our partner ecosystem, from silicon to public cloud, through channel and hardware manufacturers. As the publisher of Ubuntu and a leading open source provider, we support partners technically and commercially in various innovative value chains like Public Cloud, Cybersecurity, AI, and IoT.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will lead a team of marketing managers running partner programs. You will work closely with partners to make Canonical their trusted partner for open source products and solutions. You will be responsible for maximizing ROI of campaigns supporting partner motions such as sell-to, sell-through, or sell-with.

The partner marketing team comprises talented professionals skilled in formulating joint value propositions, running lead generation campaigns, creating compelling messages/assets, and selecting effective channels within complex supply chains. They are passionate about technology, enterprise users, and advanced partner analytics technologies.

Location: This role is home-based in the AMER region.

The role entails:

  1. Building a marketing strategy that drives pipeline growth and revenue through key partners (Silicon, IHV, ODM, Channel, GSI, etc.).
  2. Aligning with growth, field, and product marketing to deliver integrated activities.
  3. Owning partner campaigns from recruitment to demand generation.
  4. Engaging and elevating the partner community through exceptional content.
  5. Multiplying partners' impact via programmatic approaches.
  6. Crafting bespoke plans and joint value propositions.
  7. Championing partner collaboration internally and externally.
  8. Managing Marketing Development Funds (MDF).
  9. Driving adoption of analytics and reporting tools to improve ROI.
  10. Mentoring and developing a diverse team of partner marketers.
  11. Cultivating a culture of testing and optimization.

**What we are looking for in you:**

  • Strong understanding of the technology ecosystem including Silicon, IHV, ISV, ODM/OEMs, cloud providers, and channels.
  • Leadership experience in aligning diverse partners around GTM strategies.
  • Proven success in co-marketing programs in tech.
  • Experience reporting on complex partner marketing activities.
  • Ability to foster a culture of excellence, agility, and self-drive.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning.
  • Outstanding English communication skills.
  • Exceptional academic results.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for up to two weeks.

**Additional preferred experience:**

  • Familiarity with specific verticals (e.g., Telco, Finance, Industrial, Automotive).
  • Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
