Job summary

Western Digital is seeking a Summer/Fall 2027 Co-Op in Channel Integration. This intern role focuses on engineering support for HDD channel integration, testing, and tool development within a lab environment.

Aligned with WD’s early career program, new hires gain structured onboarding, mentorship, and curriculum-based development as you contribute to real-world data storage challenges.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Persistence on problem/issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Integration of vendor channels to maximize HDD read/write performance.
• Test HDDs in a hands-on, lab-based environment using oscilloscopes for failure analysis (FA).
• Develop and execute hardware test plans; summarize and present results within and outside channel team.
• Software skills required to support and develop effective test tools.
• Work closely with vendor technical support teams and Western Digital product development teams.
