Job summary

Chelten House Products, Inc. in Bridgeport, NJ is seeking a Changeover Technician for the 3rd shift.

This on-site role focuses on efficient daily line setup, GMP compliance, and close collaboration with Senior Technicians and Line Leads to ensure timely changeovers and smooth production. You will verify proper line setup, coordinate material staging, and work with Maintenance to troubleshoot start-up issues.

Responsibilities

• Final verification of proper line setup and coding reflecting scheduled paperwork.
• Ensure all replaced parts are returned and stored in the Changeover cage area.
• Cover or assist on lines with similar machinery when needed.

What We Need:

• The Changeover Technician reports to the Production Manager in a food processing environment and is responsible for efficient daily line setup in preparation for the following days production. Compliance with completing daily production line setup, Food Safety (GMPs), and adherence to all policies, procedures, and protocols within their department are required. Having open communication with Senior Changeover Technician(s) and Line Leads is expected in order to increase overall efficiency with expected line start times and initiation of the changeover process. Utilizing scheduling documentation to ensure correct material is staged on assigned line and __escalate if anything is amiss__. Expected to confirm optimal line function at start of production sequence in conjunction with Maintenance staff for troubleshooting purposes. Proper placement of any machine parts are to be accurately placed in their assigned spot within the Changeover Cage area prior to shift end time.

What You Will Do:

• Consistent daily overview of line changeover progress with periodic updates sent to Senior Changeover Technician(s).
• Identify problems/machine failures in production during process and work to resolve issues or elevate to proper channels.
• Confirm assigned line has proper material staged at shift inception.
• Final verification of proper line setup prior to production start. Confirmation that machine parts are correctly changed over with acceptable coding reflecting scheduled paperwork.
• Ensuring all parts replaced on lines are returned & stored in proper position within Changeover cage area.
• Ability to cover/assist on lines with similar machinery when needed.
