Location

SNHU Arena – Manchester, NH

The Role

The Changeover/Set‑Up Laborer assists with the preparation and conversion of the arena for a variety of events, including concerts, sporting events, and special functions. This role ensures the facility is set up safely, efficiently, and according to event specifications. The position is part‑time, event‑based, scheduled based on the arena’s event calendar and may involve overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in event setup and breakdown, including placement and removal of chairs, tables, risers, stages, stanchions, podiums, and other equipment
  • Build and dismantle concert stages and assist with arena conversions
  • Install and remove hockey dashers, glass, and related equipment
  • Set up and break down various sporting equipment as needed
  • Assist with ice installation and maintenance for events
  • Read and interpret event floor plans to ensure accurate and efficient setups
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and platform lifts (if certified)
  • Safely use hand tools and small power tools as required
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times and report any accidents, damages, or safety concerns immediately
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, including use of radios when needed
  • Assist with general facility upkeep during and after events
Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older.
Education and/Or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in similar functions desirable.
  • Licensed and qualified forklift/platform lift operation desirable.
  • Experience in event venues, arenas, or guest services is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to use hand and small power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to listen and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand room set‑up floor plans.
  • Present a neat and groomed appearance and demeanor at all times during the workday.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, mid‑shifts, early mornings, and holidays.

Compensation

Competitive hourly pay.

Working Conditions

Location: SNHU Arena – Manchester, NH.

Medium lifting up to 65 lbs without assistance. Ability to stand in the work area while performing tasks, walking and standing for most of the assigned shifts, bending and stooping at times is required. Tasks may be performed in adverse conditions (loud noise, dust, inclement weather and movement of vehicles).
