Job summary

US Tech Solutions in Columbia, SC seeks a senior operations leader to oversee all departmental operations, research technology infrastructure, and related services. You will supervise managers, professional, and student staff, set performance expectations, and drive change initiatives.

The role partners with executive leadership to optimize budgets, ensure compliance, and advance organizational outcomes. Hybrid work arrangement offered for a 12-month contract with potential extensions.

Required skills (rank in order of importance):

• 8+ years of experience leading organizational transformation, change management, and service delivery optimization
• 8+ years of experience leading large, complex technology projects
• 8+ years of experience with personnel management, coaching, and performance accountability

Required education/certifications:

• Requires a completed bachelor's degree

Preferred skills (rank in order of importance):

• Experience with research cyberinfrastructure, high-performance computing, high-speed storage and networking technologies.
• Experience implementing governance and operational maturity frameworks
• Experience managing organizational change in higher education

Preferred education/certifications:

• Master’s degree in science, technology, or a related field.
• ITIL
• Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Clienture)
• AI Infrastructure (AWS/Clienture/Google)
• Carpentries Instructor
• Training on HPC Technologies (Slurm, Infiniband)

Location:

Hybrid (Columbia, SC) 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.

Candidate Location:

Locals to SC, NC, and GA preferred.
