Job summary

Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation seeks a proactive Chamber of Commerce Director to strengthen Sheldon's business community through member engagement, events, marketing, promotions, and partnerships.

The role serves as a key connector among members, volunteers, organizations, residents, and visitors while working with the Executive Director to advance SCDC's mission and priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
• Experience in business, marketing, events, customer relations, or community development preferred.
• Excellent communication, public relations and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; social media and digital marketing experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexible schedule for events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with SCDC members through regular communication and outreach.
• Lead chamber membership recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts.
• Plan and coordinate events, programs, sponsorships, and promotions.
• Develop marketing plans and materials; manage SCDC social media presence.
• Coordinate volunteer involvement and recognize partners and sponsors.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director on budget, governance, and community initiatives.
