Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 6 months dental assisting experience.
• Completion of a formal dental assisting training program and externship acceptable.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers at chairside and maintain patient charts.
• Prepare operatory, instruments, supplies and paperwork prior to patient arrival.
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene.
• Supervise patients, mix materials, take vital signs, and handle emergencies.
• Distribute sterilized trays and instruments; manage sterilization and infection control.
• Forward supply requests; maintain inventory control and stock cubicles.
• Perform laboratory duties as assigned; order outside supplies with dental vendors and maintain catalog.
