Job summary

Akron Children's, the region's only freestanding pediatric hospital, seeks a visionary Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. You will provide strategic, academic, clinical, and operational leadership for a growing department, guiding quality, education, research, and patient care across Akron Children's and NEOMED.

Lead with collaboration and innovation in a pivotal role. The position combines responsibilities at Akron Children's and NEOMED, with a focus on advancing laboratory medicine

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Ohio.
• Ability to serve as CLIA Director for the main hospital and affiliated facilities.
• Record of progressive leadership experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic medicine, pathology, laboratory medicine, or pediatric healthcare.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and collaborative leadership skills.
• Eligibility for academic appointment at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
