Job summary

Mac’s Hardware is seeking the Chain/Rope & Cable Department Head—a full-time sales associate who guides daily department functions, helps customers select products, and measures and cuts chain, rope, and cable to spec.

You will maintain inventory, perform price changes, merchandising resets, and ensure safety and cleanliness while supporting store operations. The role requires strong communication, product knowledge, independence, and a commitment to a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware department preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to measure and cut to specification.
• Ability to lift heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection and project needs.
• Measure and cut chain, rope, and cable to customer specifications.
• Stock merchandise and put away freight deliveries in a timely manner.
• Maintain department cleanliness, safety, and organization.
• Complete price changes and signage updates as required.
• Execute merchandising resets according to store standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock to management.
• Safely lift, move, and handle heavy materials and equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and store policies.
• Support overall store operations and assist in other departments as needed.
• Maintain product knowledge to effectively assist customers.
