Job summary

GHJ Search and Staffing, on behalf of a community hospital in Georgia, seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function in a true CAH environment. The CFO will own financial strategy, revenue cycle leadership, and capital planning to support expansion and clinical services.

Qualifications

• Meaningful finance leadership experience within a Critical Access Hospital is strongly preferred.
• Deep, hands‑on knowledge of hospital revenue cycle operations.
• Working knowledge of CAH cost-based reimbursement.
• Strong accounting, financial analysis, cash management, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Experience partnering with operational and clinical leaders, not just reporting results.

Responsibilities

• Own the full financial strategy and performance of a growing Critical Access Hospital.
• Provide hands‑on leadership across revenue cycle, including patient access, case management, HIM, and patient financial services.
• Drive key revenue cycle metrics including collections, DNFB, point‑of‑service collections, and cash performance.
• Oversee Medicare cost reporting and ensure operational decisions are evaluated through the lens of CAH reimbursement.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, compliance, cash management, and long‑term financial planning.
• Guide financing and financial strategy for significant capital and clinical expansion projects.
• Partner with clinical leaders to strengthen budgeting, labor management, and financial decision‑making.
• Build trusted relationships with executive leadership, the governing board, finance committee, and community stakeholders.
