Job summary

CLA is seeking a CFO to lead the Nonprofit Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice in Southern New England. You will oversee a team of 8–10 professionals delivering outsourced accounting solutions and CFO consulting to clients.

The role requires managing multiple engagements, driving growth, and partnering with clients' leadership on strategic and financial decisions. Travel to client sites is expected, with opportunities across RI/MA locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (related experience may be substituted).
• 8 years of relevant accounting/financial experience required.
• Experience in the nonprofit industry required.
• Experience using networks for business development and proven team-building growth.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client leadership on operational and strategic issues using financial analysis.
• Monitor budgets and present operational metrics to leadership.
• Develop deep knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific financials.
• Oversee financial staff, cash flow, and forecasting across engagements.
• Manage capital planning, risk management, and board interactions.
• Build strong client relationships and lead multiple engagements.
