Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial operations of a rapidly growing plaintiff law firm in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate has deep experience in large or sophisticated law firms, with contingency-fee practice expertise and a track record of scaling finance systems.

You will partner with the Managing Partner and C-Suite to own accounting, reporting, controls, and long-term financial strategy, while building and guiding an established accounting team.

Qualifications

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Oversee accounting functions including AP/AR, reconciliations, payroll, and month-end close.
• Manage contingency-fee practice dynamics, including case-cost advances and trust accounting.
• Develop financial models, KPIs, and forecasts for executive decision-making.
• Maintain internal controls and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Oversee the Controller and broader accounting function, including AP/AR, reconciliations, payroll, and month-end close.
• Manage the financial dynamics of a contingency-fee practice, including case-cost advances, settlement disbursements, trust/IOLTA accounting, and irregular revenue cycles.
• Develop financial models, KPIs, and forecasts to support executive decision-making.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate financial and regulatory reporting.
• Manage banking, financing, insurance, CPA, and other key financial relationships.
• Support growth strategy, including financial due diligence, acquisition modeling, deal structuring, and integration.
