Job summary

Strategic Investment Group in Arlington, VA seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead corporate finance, accounting, treasury, FP&A, and controls. The CFO will provide timely financial insight to the CEO, leadership team, and Board, ensuring rigorous control environments and regulatory compliance for institutional clients.

Responsibilities include budgeting, close, revenue recognition, tax planning, audit management, and strategic partnership with the executive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• MBA or related master's degree strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with CFO-level responsibility.
• Experience serving institutional clients with fiduciary oversight.
• Working knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940; ERISA familiarity preferred.
• Familiarity with complex fund structures and performance-based fee arrangements.
• On-site in Arlington, VA Tuesday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting functions; provide timely financial insight to CEO, leadership team, and Board.
• Oversee general ledger, close processes, and policy documentation.
• Own annual budget, rolling forecasts, long-range planning and variance analysis.
• Oversee client billing, revenue recognition, and accounts receivable processes.
• Manage treasury, liquidity, capital planning, and asset separation between client and firm assets.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll-related controls, tax planning and compliance.
• Lead external audit relationships and maintain a strong internal-control environment.
• Partner with General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer on regulatory obligations for fiduciary responsibilities.
• Develop and lead finance systems and collaborate with IT on finance technology.
