Job summary

Strategic Investment Group is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead corporate finance, accounting, treasury, FP&A, and controls. The CFO will partner with the CEO and Board, ensuring timely financial insights and a rigorous control environment for a fiduciary-focused firm serving institutional clients.

The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, executive communication, and the ability to build a high-performing finance function in Arlington, VA.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant leadership responsibility as a CFO, Controller, or senior finance executive within asset-management or financial-services.
• Experience serving institutional clients and familiarity with fiduciary expectations of boards and investment committees.
• CPA strongly preferred and on-site Arlington, VA office Tuesday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall financial strategy and provide timely information to CEO, leadership, and Board.
• Oversee accounting close, policies, and documentation; ensure compliance with standards.
• Own budget, forecasts, long-range planning, and management reporting.
• Oversee billing, revenue recognition, AR, and client contracts.
• Manage treasury, liquidity, and capital planning; separate corporate vs client assets.
• Provide audit readiness and manage external relationships; support due diligence.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance; lead risk-management initiatives.
• Develop and coach finance team; oversee systems and technology.
