Job summary

Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho seeks a dynamic Chief Financial Officer to oversee the hospital’s financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive strategic financial planning. This executive leader will partner with the CEO and Board to align finances with mission and growth goals.

The CFO will manage budgeting, reporting, risk management, and long-term investment strategies while leading cost-control and revenue-cycle initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Management, or related field.
• MBA or comparable graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive management experience in healthcare.
• Minimum of 5 years of executive-level financial leadership experience.
• Experience in Rural Critical Access Hospital preferred.
• Experience in financial planning, organizational assessments, and process improvements.
• Extensive experience with physicians, clinicians, and hospital leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication with the CEO and Board regarding hospital finances and operations.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the hospital’s mission and goals.
• Oversee accounting, corporate reporting, financial compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and policies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and investment strategies for long-term sustainability.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and cost-control measures.
• Collaborate with department managers on budgets, staffing, and performance improvements.
• Conduct financial audits and oversee internal controls.
• Support strategic planning with financial insights and analyses.
• Oversee benefits negotiations and competitive compensation packages.
• Provide administrative input in CEO absence and participate in on-call rotations.
• Represent the hospital at Board meetings and leadership forums.
• Fulfill the hospital’s mission in response to community and patient needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
