CFM56 Aircraft Engine Inspector (FAA / Quality Control)

Role Overview

We are actively seeking an experienced CFM56 Aircraft Engine Inspector to join our FAA-certified Part 145 repair station in Miami, FL. Specifically, in this position, you will perform preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final quality control inspections on civil aviation articles. Additionally, all of your daily operations must strictly align with manufacturer instructions, regulatory requirements, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and approved FAA data. Consequently, your meticulous work directly ensures absolute continued airworthiness for our clients.

Key Responsibilities ("A Day in the Life")

• Quality Inspection: Perform comprehensive preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections on CFM56-3, -5, and -7 engine components and sub-assemblies.
• Tooling & Calibration: Ensure all precision inspection tools, measuring aids, and non-destructive equipment within your assigned area are fully functional, correctly maintained, and possess current, valid calibration data tags.
• Return to Service: Verify all component alterations, repairs, and maintenance activities are properly executed and documented according to company quality standards before final sign-off and return to service.
• Technical Interpretation: Read, interpret, and follow complex OEM manuals, engine routers, blueprints, and service letters.
• Maintenance Support: Isolate component failures, assist repair technicians/engineers with technical troubleshooting, and complete scripted rework testing procedures as required.
• Inventory Control: Maintain strict compliance with established inventory control and parts tracking procedures on the shop floor.

Required Qualifications

Licensing: Active FAA Powerplant license is required.

Technical Skills: Proven experience conducting borescope inspections and utilizing precision hand and pneumatic tools.

Aviation Acumen: Solid understanding of troubleshooting concepts, failure isolation, and pre-defined engine testing/repair procedures.

Documentation: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to read and understand complex technical routers and OEM manuals.

Language: Full business proficiency in the English language.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Direct hands-on inspection experience with the CFM56 engine family (-3, -5, and -7 variants).
• Familiarity with Quantum Control aviation MRO software systems.
• Bilingual proficiency (English / Spanish) is a plus.
