Cooley LLP has an associate opportunity available in the CFIUS, Trade Controls & Government Contracts practice of its Washington, DC office. Attorneys with two to six years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Ideal candidates will have:

• a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school,
• experience or interest in work with the CFIUS and the Outbound Investment Security Program (OISP);
• experience or willingness to develop expertise in the related subjects of government contracts, export control, and internal investigations;
• experience or interest in developing expertise in transactional support (i.e., M&A and structured investments).

In addition to CFIUS experience, specific experience with the following government entities is especially of interest:

• the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS);
• the Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC);
• the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC);
• the Department of Defense’s Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

The expected annual pay range for this position is $235,000-$390,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
