Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a CFD Modeler II to develop and run CFD models for building systems, focusing on data centers, healthcare, labs, and large venues. You will prepare simulation reports and support design decisions with data-driven input.

The role requires 3+ years of CFD experience, proficiency with Fluent, STAR-CCM+, and CAD tools, plus scripting in Python/C++. Travel to project sites is expected 10–15% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Baseline knowledge of CFD, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and building mechanical systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in CFD modeling and mechanical design.
  • Demonstrated experience using CFD software such as Fluent, Cadence Reality DC, or STAR-CCM+.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C#, C++, or Python preferred.
  • Experience in data center and mission-critical projects preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • Ability to deliver quality work within deadlines.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative team and independently as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and run 3D CFD models for building systems across various projects.
  • Monitor model convergence and revise simulations with guidance from senior modelers.
  • Analyze simulation results and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Use Python or C++ scripting to enhance modeling workflows.
  • Support business development and client coordination activities.
  • Visit job sites to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
  • Participate in project management tasks as assigned.
