Job summary

Inversion in Playa Vista, CA, is seeking a Senior Propulsion and Energetics Analyst (Fluids) to build out simulation toolboxes for high-mobility propulsion and energy systems. The role interfaces with design engineers to evaluate performance using CFD and related tools.

The candidate should have a strong background in liquid-gas interactions, multi-physics CFD, and custom solvers, with ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup setting and communicate results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in fluid analysis of rocket propulsion systems or similar.
• Deep proficiency across CFD workflow: meshing, setup, convergence, post-processing, automation.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document fluid and thermal analysis of propulsion components, tanks, feed systems, and heat exchangers.
• Lead modeling of liquid-gas interactions in injector spray and interface with design engineers.
• Develop analysis programs to mature confidence alongside hardware maturity for move to test-ready.
• Size and analyze flow restrictors, controllers, PMDs, and baffles.
• Collaborate with design and test engineers to plan validation testing.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to peers.
