Job summary

Mindrift seeks a skilled CFD engineer to train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulations. You will work with CAD geometry, run simulations, build verified reference solutions, and write Python checks for the agent's results, collaborating with a remote, global team.

This freelance role offers flexible hours (10–20 hours/week during active phases), a fully remote setup, and performance-based bonuses, with hourly compensation up to $69 depending on level and pace.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field such as energy or oil & gas.
• Several years of hands-on CFD in industry or research with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Solid verification and validation practice: mesh-independence studies, and validation against experiment or benchmarks.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field such as energy or oil & gas. A PhD is preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on industry or research CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.

Compensation

On this project, contributors can earn up to$69 per hour equivalent, depending on their level and pace of contribution.
