Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a CFD Analyst-Mechanical Engineer to join the Milwaukee, WI office. You will analyze building infrastructure, power and cooling systems to ensure data centers run 24/7, applying CFD tools and communicating results to design teams.

The role emphasizes developing best practices, automating workflows, and staying current with CFD research in building mechanical systems. Strong collaboration and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of CFD, thermodynamics, heat transfer and building mechanical systems.
  • Ability to deliver quality work on deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CFD tools to solve building-flow and thermal problems.
  • Improve analytical capabilities by automating processes and documenting methods.
  • Maintain knowledge of current CFD research in building mechanical engineering.
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations for design teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and project managers.

We are currently searching fora CFD Analyst-Mechanical Engineerto sit in either ourMilwaukee WIoffice.

Your Impact
  • Utilize CFD tools to solve physics-based problems related to indoor and outdoor building flows, thermal comfort, contaminant dispersion and condensation controls
  • Improve existing analytical capabilities by developing and improving best practices, automating processes, and streamlining workflows
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant computational fluids research in the building mechanical field with proactive research
  • Documentation, reporting, and making technical presentations of engineering solutions to design teams and clients
  • Work independently while communicating and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and project managers
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline
  • 3 year of relevant work experience
  • Knowledgeable on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Building Mechanical Systems
  • Ability to perform quality work within deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding and using CFD analysis software (FloEFD, STAR CCM+, Fluent, FDS, OpenFOAM, 6SigmaRoom)
  • Familiarity with software development for writing User Defined Functions (UDF) for commercial software.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++ and Java
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills, planning & organizing skills, decision making and time management skill
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to clearly communicate research findings through presentations and reports
  • Strong drive for results and continuous improvement
