Continuous Composites LLC is seeking a Composite Application Engineer to develop and implement CF3D® continuous fiber 3D printing solutions for aerospace and defense. You will design, optimize, and implement application-specific processes, including material selection, toolpath programming, and print parameter tuning, while translating customer requirements into manufacturable parts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical or applications engineering role, preferably within the composites or aerospace industries.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or Catia).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of composite materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant aerospace/defense applications.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and translate them into actionable CF3D solutions.
• Design and develop application-specific processes, including material selection, toolpath programming, and print parameter optimization.
• Design and optimize production tools, fixtures, and molds for CF3D printing and post-processing.
• Monitor real-time printing parameters, fiber placement, layup performance, and cure profiles to identify optimization opportunities and reduce defects.
• Provide hands-on technical support including system setup, parameter tuning, troubleshooting, and process adjustments on the shop floor.
• Lead application-focused projects across R&D, engineering, and sales from concept to completion.
• Develop training materials and documentation for customers and internal teams.
• Provide feedback to R&D to drive hardware, software, and materials enhancements.
• Develop technical proposals with work plans, costing, and timelines for DoD and Congressional releases.
