Alvin College is seeking part-time instructors for CNC and machining courses in the CEWD department. The pool supports flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, and weekends, with assignments across Alvin and offsite locations.
Instructors will recruit, develop programs, and assess learning outcomes, while maintaining low-hour commitments and ensuring student engagement and safety in the shop environment.
This is a Part-Time Instructor Pool in our Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs. Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends.
May require travel to our main campus in Alvin and/or to various offsite locations, including local high schools in Alvin, Danbury, Manvel and Pearland and to Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities in Richmond, Rosharon or Lake Jackson.
Requires the provision of official transcripts, licenses and/or certifications within (30) days of hire.

This position is responsible for instruction of CNC & machining courses and the safety & success of the students enrolled in the program. The Instructor will teach a variety of classes based on both manual and CNC lathes, mills and other equipment used in manufacturing.
In addition, the Instructor will assist with recruitment, program development and learning outcomes.
The incumbent typically works in a classroom environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a classroom. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
