A leading hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join their Hospice Department. The CNA will play a crucial role in patient care, assisting nursing staff in various duties, including bathing and transferring patients. Candidates should have a high school diploma, complete nurse aide training, and ideally possess six months of experience. This position is vital for ensuring quality care and requires proper documentation skills and positive communication abilities.
Job Summary:
A member of the patient care team within the Department of Hospice, directly accountable to the Hospice Director or Patient Care Manager. The position involves assisting professional nursing staff by performing specific nurse aide functions such as bathing, shampooing, ambulation, transfers, maintaining a tidy sick area, and other duties as identified in the care plan, under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist. The CNA demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understands principles of growth and development, and can assess patient data to identify individual needs. The CNA also documents patient care accurately and timely, notifies RNs of any changes, participates in service and competency programs, and performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills:
High School Diploma/GED required. Completion of an approved Nurse Aide training course is required. During orientation, successful completion of a 75-hour certification program as a Home Health Aide is necessary. If no prior certificate, must complete a 75-hour certification as a Hospice aide. Completion of a Nurse Aide training from an approved school is preferred.
Work Experience:
Six months of nurse aide experience preferred.
