Job summary

The Kelly Group is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector for its Lafayette, Indiana facility. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel and/or sheet metal fabrication, with AWS CWI certification being essential. The role involves ensuring welding quality and compliance with customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel and/or sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of welding quality requirements.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Ensure welding quality and code compliance throughout the fabrication process.
• Inspect welds and develop quality documentation.
• Coordinate welder qualification testing and non-destructive testing.

Skills

AWS CWI certification

Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.3 codes

Inspection of welds for compliance

Review and interpretation of blueprints

Experience with welding processes (GMAW, FCAW)
