Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector II to perform and sign visual weld inspections, review WPS/PQR, and witness welder qualification tests at fabrication shops and field sites. You will direct NDT and prepare reports relied on by engineers and building officials.

Qualified candidates hold a current AWS CWI with 2+ years of inspection under it, with knowledge of D1.1 and at least one of D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, or API 1104; ICC certification is a plus and

Qualifications

• Current AWS CWI with 2+ years of inspection experience.
• Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 and at least one of D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, or API 1104.
• ICC steel/bolting certification preferred (sponsored if not held).

Responsibilities

• Perform and sign visual weld inspections with accept/reject authority per project code.
• Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
• Witness welder qualification tests and direct NDT activities.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports for the engineer and building official.
