The role involves inspecting welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, and related structures; ensuring compliance with shop drawings and specifications; preparing daily reports and coordinating with fabricators, clients, and engineers. Strong communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School.
• Minimum years of experience: 3.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector.
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work well independently and with others.
• Need reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Inspection of welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other materials.
• Monitoring work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Communicating and meeting with fabricators, clients, and engineers.
• Production of daily written shop reports.

Pennoni is currently seekingfull-timeAWS Certified Welding Inspectors in Miami, FL for fabrication shops that producebridge and highway products for transportation agencies withexperience is consistent with, but not limited to:

• Inspection of welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other materials
• Monitoring work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications
• Communicating and meeting with fabricators, clients, and engineers
• Production ofdaily written shop reports

Required Attributes:

• Minimum Education: High School
• Minimum years of experience: 3
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector
• Computer Skills: Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work well independently and with others
• Need reliable transportation

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience performing QA/QC of bridge fabrication.
• Non-Destructive Testing [NDT] certifications (e.g.: UT, MT, PT).
• Experience performing QA/QC of bridge and highway structures fabrication.
• AWS D1.1/D1.5 Experience.
• Coating Inspection experience
