Job summary

Terracon Akron, OH office is seeking Certified Welding Inspectors to join our Construction Materials Testing team. Inspectors perform testing, observation, and reporting to ensure work meets contract specifications and building codes.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, documenting findings, coordinating with Project Managers, and maintaining equipment calibration. Required include multiple certifications (AWS CWI, NICET II, ASNT II, and more) and a high school diploma with relevant

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2-4 years' experience in construction inspection.
Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
Required internal safety certifications completed.

Responsibilities

Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and procedures to determine if work aligns with contract specifications.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.
Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication to Project Manager.
Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
May interact with client and site personnel to provide input on resolution of findings.
May assist Project Manager in development of scope for testing and inspection services.
Maintains equipment operation and calibration.
