Job summary

Universal Industrial Sales (UIS) in Lindon, UT is seeking a Shop Inspector to perform weld and coating inspections on fabricated steel products. You will verify materials against drawings and MTRs, document results, and monitor materials through UIS tracking software.

The role requires reading drawings, welding symbols, and adherence to AWS codes. Strong communication and MS Office proficiency are essential, with night differential and OT opportunities included.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI Certification required.
• ASNT Magnetic Particle Level II and Ultrasonic Shear Wave3 certifications preferred.
• Proficient with reading & interpreting specifications and mill test reports.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform shop inspections on fabricated steel products to AWS codes and UIS specs.
• Verify materials per drawings, contract specifications, and MTRs.
• Provide final welding and coating inspections (galvanizing/paint) and document results.
• Use UIS tracking software to monitor material in process and move to next operation.
• Assist 3rd party inspectors and communicate welding issues to staff.
