Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of welding inspection experience, preferably on power or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, API and related standards.
• Experience with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW welding processes and materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols accurately.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work in challenging environments and at heights/ confined spaces.
• Recent Visual Acuity.

Job Description

• Perform visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds in accordance with AWS, ASME, and project-specific standards.
• Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
• Monitor welding operations to ensure compliance with approved procedures and safety regulations.
• Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with project engineers, quality assurance teams, and contractors to resolve welding-related issues.
• Ensure adherence to power plant safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Participate in root cause analysis for welding defects and recommend corrective actions.

Skills Required

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in welding inspection, preferably in power plant or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, API, and other relevant standards.
• Familiarity with various welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in challenging environments, including elevated structures and confined spaces.
• Recent Visual Acuity

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Degree or GED
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential from AWS (American Welding Society) required.
