Job summary

Rust Constructors is seeking a Certified Welder to join our team in Guthrie, Kentucky. This role will perform structural welds, read blueprints, and support field work on the City of Guthrie Interim Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion project.

Requirements include an active AWS D1.1 welder certification, 1+ year of experience in structural or industrial welding, and proficiency with SMAW (Stick) or GMAW (MIG).

Qualifications

• Active Welder Certification (AWS D1.1) required.
• 1+ years' experience as a structural/industrial welder in fabrication shop or field.
• Strong print reading skills, including understanding welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welds using SMAW (Stick) per project specs.
• Read and interpret structural blueprints, welding symbols, and WPS.
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, beveling, and aligning metal components before welding.
• Fit and tack weld assemblies to ensure precise positioning.
• Inspect finished welds for quality and compliance with standards.
• Maintain welding equipment through routine checks on machines, torches, and gas regulators.
• Follow safety protocols, including proper ventilation and PPE usage.
