Position Overview:

The Wastewater Treatment Operator will oversee the operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and economical wastewater treatment. The role involves executing policies from management, complying with state and federal regulations, and developing continuous improvement programs. Success requires a high degree of independent judgment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform treatment plant rounds; inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, test performance, and document processes.
2. Operate and adjust plant equipment including pumps, motors, and feeders.
3. Maintain logs and reports; perform calculations related to plant operations.
4. Manage chemical mixing and application according to regulations.
5. Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and service plant machinery and equipment.
6. Collect samples, perform routine wastewater laboratory tests, and monitor results.
7. Perform general plant maintenance and groundskeeping.
8. Plan and organize workload effectively.
9. Collaborate professionally with staff and onsite teams.
10. Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.
11. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
12. Attend meetings and company functions as required.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Ability to pass a background check to access the facility.
2. Minimum of a Wastewater Treatment Systems Operator, Level 2, certification in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, or Kentucky.
3. Ability to operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment.
4. Ability to perform, analyze, and interpret laboratory tests for operational adjustments.
5. Knowledge of processes involved in wastewater treatment and maintenance of related equipment.
6. Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in demanding environments.
7. Must pass a pre-employment background check.
