Base pay range

Candidates should be proficient in animal handling, blood draws, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and comfortable with general veterinary care. Client education and communication skills are essential. Our ideal candidate is passionate about surgery and eager to work in our surgery department multiple days a week. Skills Required:

• Monitoring, recording, and reporting physical signs of pets.
• Collecting blood, urine, skin, and fecal samples.
• Client communication.
• Recording patient vitals, client communications, and treatment plans.
• Responding to questions in person or over the phone.
• Assisting Veterinarians as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

Veterinary Technicians and Assistants should have broad knowledge of animal science and medicine. They need to handle and restrain animals effectively, be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of taking medical histories, following instructions, documenting statistics, and updating records.

Personal and Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work Saturdays.
• Enjoy working with animals.
• Detail-oriented.
• Sufficient strength and assertiveness for restraint.
• Ability to stand for at least eight hours daily.
• Comfort with handling dogs on leashes.
• Ability to work in environments with disinfectants, animal dander, and excretions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Love of animals and patience.
• Professional demeanor at all times.

Education/Experience:

• Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology required.

Job Details:

Full-time position with salary ranging from $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on experience and skills. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, HSA with employer contribution, 401(k), employee assistance, discounts, paid time off, and holiday pay. Schedule options include Monday to Saturday, 4x10 or 5x8 shifts.

Qualifications:

• Veterinary technician experience: 1 year required.
• Animal handling: 1 year required.

Additional Bonus:

Sign-on bonus potential of up to $1000, eligible after six months of employment.
